Priory View Pre-School

September 2021 Newsletter

Dear Parents/Carers

We hope you have all had a lovely Summer and have managed to spend time with families and friends. Firstly, we would like to welcome all our new children and families, we hope that your time with us will be one filled with fun and wonderful memories.

COVID Update

We hope that we can begin to return to a normal pre-school environment for the coming term - it would be wonderful to have at least one academic year without a threat of lock down looming! We will of course be adhering to the following Government guidelines:-

  • Anyone with symptoms will be sent home and need to take a PCR test and self-isolate adhering to Government guidelines, irrespective of their vaccination status or age.
  • All individuals will need to self-isolate after testing positive.
  • Individuals who have come into contact with an infected person will need to self-isolate if they are not fully vaccinated. Double jabbed individuals and under 18’s will no longer need to self-isolate if they are identified as a close contact of someone with COVID-19.

We would also just ask that all visitors, parents and carers wear masks during pick up and drop off times and when entering the pre-school.

We are looking forward to a wonderful Autumn Term with you and your children, with lots of lovely things planned to help your children to learn and develop.

Curiosity and Wonder

There will be a few gradual, exciting changes to the experiences we offer your children this pre-school year at Priory View. This is because our new Owner, Vicky, has entered a competition on behalf of the pre-school and has won an opportunity to embark on a Scandinavian Early Years Accredited Course called ‘Hygge in the Early Years’ (pronounced ‘Hew-guh’ and meaning ‘a feeling of wellbeing, cosiness and contentment’).

Back in 2008, Vicky had the wonderful opportunity to visit Denmark with several Bournemouth colleagues and to explore their ‘forest nursery provision’. Vicky was amazed by the use of natural resources to inspire the children and to make them curious, independent and excited to learn and she now has the opportunity to gradually introduce this special early years environment into our pre-school.

Could you also please write your child’s name in their coats and shoes, as many children have the same style, size and width-fitting shoes at this age and confusion can easily arise, especially during role-play situations.
