Dear Parents/Carers,

After our very successful trip last year to the New Leaf Allotment in Muscliff, we are happy to let you know that we have arranged a return visit!!  This is planned for Thursday, 6th July, 2017 and we will be there from 10.30 a.m. to approx. 1.30 p.m.  There are quite a lot of details to share with you and these will follow in a separate letter but please be aware that the pre-school will be closed on this day.

Could we take this opportunity to remind you to put suncream on your child before each session and provide them with a NAMED sunhat.  We would also ask you to write  your child’s name clearly on the outside of backpacks/bags  to avoid staff having the frustrating task of searching for children’s nappies/clothes etc.

Thank you so much for all your Sainsbury vouchers! The last day for collection is Monday, 12th June when we will count them all up and see what we can ‘spend’ them on – we will keep you informed.

Our supplies of boys’ jogging bottoms (easy to put on) in sizes 2-3 and 3-4 are very low – if you have any unwanted ones at home they will be very gratefully received!

Frasier Photographers will be in the pre-school on Tuesday, 27th June to take the school leavers’ photo.  Please bring your school leaver along at around 9.15 a.m. if they don’t normally attend on a Friday and you would like them to be included in the photo.

We break up for the summer holidays on Friday, 21st July.  We will be holding a school leavers’ party on this day – this will be followed by a leavers’ ceremony in the Church at 11.30 am. – where key workers will present the children with their individual learning journey.  Please note there will be no lunch club on this day.  We will put a party food list in the outer hall nearer the time.  As this session is for school leavers only, please speak to Christine or Delphine if your child normally attends on a Friday but is not leaving us…. We will arrange an alternative session for them.  If your school leaver does not normally attend on a Friday we can also swap a session for them – otherwise the session fee of £15 applies.

Finally, we return for the Autumn Term on Monday, 4th September!

Many thanks,

THE PRIORY VIEW TEAM

Dear Parents/Carers,

As you may be aware, from September 2017 some parents/carers in England will be eligible for 30 hours of funded childcare rather than the current 15 hours.

At present, Priory View is open for 20 hours per week and, therefore, some parents/carers may be able to receive the funding to cover the full 20 hours.

To see if you are eligible to receive this extra allowance please visit the Childcare Service System via the following link:-

https://childcare-support.tax.service.gov.uk/par/app/applynow

HMRC is responsible for checking whether a parent meets the eligibility criteria.  If successful you will be issued with an eligibility code which you will need to give to us.  Before we can verify this code, we will need your written consent and so will ask you to fill in a parent consent form.

The Childcare Choices website which sets out current and upcoming Government childcare offers and support is very helpful and may be worth a visit if you would like to find out more.

Dear Parents/Carers,

WORLD BOOK DAY, Thursday, 2nd March 2017

We would love to get all the children involved in this year’s World Book Day so we would like to invite them to bring in a favourite (named) book to share.  It would also be great if they would like to come into pre-school dressed as a character from their favourite story on Thursday, 2nd March……we could guess who they are!!!

RED NOSE DAY,  Friday, 24th March 2017

To get into the spirit of Red Nose Day we would like to invite the children to wear red on Friday, 24th March.  Don’t worry if they don’t have any red items of clothing….. fancy dress will be fine too!!

TERM DATES

A quick reminder of our term dates……..we break up for the Easter holiday on Friday, 7th April returning on Monday 24th April.  The last day of the Summer Term is on Friday, 21st July.

Kind regards,

THE PRIORY VIEW TEAM

Dear Parents/Carers,

For your information, here is a quick reminder about the fees payable at Priory View:-

  • Unfunded lunch club - £5 per session
  • Unfunded children - £15 per session
  • Funded 3/4 year old children - £1.75 per session additional contribution
  • Funded 2 year olds - Fully funded

You will see from the above that our unfunded fees equate to £5 per hour.  At present we receive £3.95 per hour for funded 3 and 4 year olds (this will rise to £4.30 per hour from April).  We ask you to pay an additional contribution of £1.75 per session to help towards the cost of additional services which are not covered by the grant, i.e. a variety of daily healthy snacks (including cheese, cereals, various fruits), Christmas and summer parties etc.

If your child is two years old and you would like to check the eligibility criteria for two year old funding, please visit:  www.bournemouth.gov.uk/two

Children are eligible for 15 hours funding per week which commences the term after their 3rd birthday.  Lunch club can be included in the 15 hours funding allowance per week.

Please note that we appreciate fees being paid in advance and these can be paid weekly, monthly or a term in advance.

We hope that the above information is helpful but if you have any queries please do not hesitate to speak to a member of staff

Thank you – The Priory View Team.

Dear Parents/Carers,

We are going to have to ask children to stop bringing toys etc into the pre-school. Some children bring several items into the setting and get very upset when they get lost. Staff try their best to locate and keep these items safe but it is very time consuming and frustrating for everyone.  Therefore we will be talking to the children to explain about the new ‘rule’ and we would be grateful if you could support us by talking  to them at home too. Some children, of course, need special ‘comforter’ items, ie. blankets/dummies etc, and we are still happy for these to be brought into the setting - named if possible.

Could we ask you make sure that your child brings a warm coat to pre-school during the cold weather to ensure that they are adequately dressed for outside play.  All items brought into the setting need to be named clearly. Many thanks.

The time has come for us all to start collecting our Sainsbury’s Active Kids vouchers again….. you will find our collection box in the entrance hall.  As we start collecting we will get an idea of what we can aim for….. we will keep you informed and see if we can reach our goal!!

Please don’t forget to ring us by 9.15 am if your child is going to be away from pre-school to enable us to keep our records up to date.

For your information we are closed for the half term break from 13th-17th February.  We break up for the Easter holiday on Friday, 7th April, returning on Monday, 24th April, 2017.

Many thanks.

We have now had an opportunity to talk to the children about our forthcoming Nativity and are starting to introduce them to our Christmas songs…… no doubt you will be hearing them quite a lot leading up the main event!!

We have allocated the various roles and you will find a list of these on the notice board in the main entrance. If your child is an angel or shepherd it would be great if you could provide an outfit for them…. past experience has shown that you can achieve a good shepherd effect with a tea towel and a dressing gown!!   Costumes will be provided for the main roles.  If you have any queries please speak to a member of staff.

You will also find a food list for the Christmas Party in the entrance hall.  We would be grateful if each child could bring an item of food with them to share at the party - a few ideas have been jotted down on the list so you can put your child’s name next to the item you would like to bring.  Please feel free to put down your own ideas.

We would just like to take this opportunity to say thank you for all the various donations of toys that we have recently received – from cars to mega bricks- and we would like to say a special thank you to Braelyn’s parents who came to our rescue when our computer for the children’s use was beyond repair recently.  They have provided us with a new one so thank you again!!

Finally, could we remind you that there will be no lunch club on Monday, 12th December (Nativity) and Friday, 16th December, (Christmas Party) when we will be finishing at 12 noon.

We would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and we look forward to seeing you when we return on Monday, 9th January 2017!

Kind regards
