Dear Parents/Carers,

We are going to have to ask children to stop bringing toys etc into the pre-school. Some children bring several items into the setting and get very upset when they get lost. Staff try their best to locate and keep these items safe but it is very time consuming and frustrating for everyone.  Therefore we will be talking to the children to explain about the new ‘rule’ and we would be grateful if you could support us by talking  to them at home too. Some children, of course, need special ‘comforter’ items, ie. blankets/dummies etc, and we are still happy for these to be brought into the setting - named if possible.

Could we ask you make sure that your child brings a warm coat to pre-school during the cold weather to ensure that they are adequately dressed for outside play.  All items brought into the setting need to be named clearly. Many thanks.

The time has come for us all to start collecting our Sainsbury’s Active Kids vouchers again….. you will find our collection box in the entrance hall.  As we start collecting we will get an idea of what we can aim for….. we will keep you informed and see if we can reach our goal!!

Please don’t forget to ring us by 9.15 am if your child is going to be away from pre-school to enable us to keep our records up to date.

For your information we are closed for the half term break from 13th-17th February.  We break up for the Easter holiday on Friday, 7th April, returning on Monday, 24th April, 2017.

Many thanks.

The Priory View Team

We have now had an opportunity to talk to the children about our forthcoming Nativity and are starting to introduce them to our Christmas songs…… no doubt you will be hearing them quite a lot leading up the main event!!

We have allocated the various roles and you will find a list of these on the notice board in the main entrance. If your child is an angel or shepherd it would be great if you could provide an outfit for them…. past experience has shown that you can achieve a good shepherd effect with a tea towel and a dressing gown!!   Costumes will be provided for the main roles.  If you have any queries please speak to a member of staff.

You will also find a food list for the Christmas Party in the entrance hall.  We would be grateful if each child could bring an item of food with them to share at the party - a few ideas have been jotted down on the list so you can put your child’s name next to the item you would like to bring.  Please feel free to put down your own ideas.

We would just like to take this opportunity to say thank you for all the various donations of toys that we have recently received – from cars to mega bricks- and we would like to say a special thank you to Braelyn’s parents who came to our rescue when our computer for the children’s use was beyond repair recently.  They have provided us with a new one so thank you again!!

Finally, could we remind you that there will be no lunch club on Monday, 12th December (Nativity) and Friday, 16th December, (Christmas Party) when we will be finishing at 12 noon.

We would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and we look forward to seeing you when we return on Monday, 9th January 2017!

Kind regards

For your information, Frasier Photographers will be in the pre-school on Thursday, 17th November.  If your child does not attend on Thursdays and you don’t want to miss out on the opportunity for some lovely photos in time for Christmas, or if you would like siblings included etc, please come along at 9.15 am on that day.

As Christmas is just around the corner we are beginning to make plans here at Priory View!  We are pleased to let you know that we will be holding a Nativity Service in the Church on Monday, 12th December, starting at 11.30 am.  We would ask that each child has a parent/carer present.   If your child does not usually attend on a Monday and you would like them to be included, please bring them along at around 11.20 am on that morning, dressed in their outfit.  If you do not want your child to take part in the Nativity please inform a member of staff.  More details, including roles etc, will be displayed in the Entrance Hall nearer the time.

Our Christmas Party will be held on Friday, 16th December and all the children are invited!!  If your child does not normally attend on a Friday you are welcome to swap a session or pay the session fee of £15 – please speak to a member of staff.  A food list will be displayed in the Entrance Hall nearer the time where you can choose an item of food to bring to the party.  Children are welcome to wear fancy dress and Father Christmas will be making an appearance.

Please note that there will be NO LUNCH CLUB on Monday, 12th December and Friday, 16th December – both sessions will finish at 12 noon.  Please speak to a member of staff if you would like to swap either of these lunch club sessions for another day.

The last day of term is Friday, 16th December and we return on Monday,9th January, 2017.  For your information, Spring half term is from 13th-17th February and we break up for Easter on Friday, 7th April, returning on Mon 24th April.

Good luck with all of your Christmas preparations!!

Dear Parents/Carers,

Welcome back to pre-school after the summer break.  What fantastic weather we had – hope you all had a great time!

Could we ask you to make sure you mark your child’s name clearly on all the items they bring into the setting – it can be very time consuming trying to identify the children’s belongings.

We would also ask you not to leave items in the entrance hall as we seem to have a lot of scooters, bikes etc which get in the way when we need to use this space.

If your child was with us last term, please let us know if any of your details have changed… telephone numbers, emergency contacts etc, to enable us to update our records.

Next week (week beginning 12th September) we will be starting a new topic – All About Me.  This will help us get to know your child and will be a good opportunity for them to get to know each other, form a sense of belonging and think about emotions etc.

For your information the term dates are as follows….. We break up for half term on Friday 21st October and return on Monday 31st October 2016.  The last day of term will be on Friday 16th December. We have already been asked for the date of the Nativity so for your information we are planning to hold it on Monday, 12th December!

Kind regards,

We are pleased to let you know that arrangements have now been confirmed for our planned trip to the New Leaf Allotment in Throop.  This will take place on Tuesday, 5th July, from 10.30 until approx. 1.30pm.

All children need to be accompanied by an adult and will be your responsibility during our visit.  We would like to let you know that this is a very rural (be warned – it’s a compost loo!!) working allotment and you need to be aware of tools, uneven/ muddy ground,  ponds etc.   We also need to ensure that the growing plants, various flower beds, volunteers who may be working at the allotment etc are respected so it is essential that your child is supervised at all times.  However, this is a great opportunity for the children to see vegetables and fruit growing in a really natural environment, especially as our topic last term was growing and we have been nurturing our own plants!

We aim to have a fun trip with an opportunity to appreciate the natural environment.  Please bring a picnic with you – we are hoping to have it in the orchard!! (Don’t forget the wet wipes!!).

As this is such a rural location please be aware that there is no parking on-site – there are roads nearby and these are highlighted on the map on the reverse of this letter- the allotment can be reached by a 5 minute walk along Musliffe Lane.

Please click here to download the letter so that you can complete and sign the attached slip.
